Coalition to Grow Carbon Markets is Seeking for a Programme Associate (Remote) – Apply Before 4 March 2026

Salary: Circa £40,000 GBP (location-adjusted)
Contract: Fixed term to December 2026, with possible extension
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Location: Remote-first, with preference for London, Paris, or Nairobi; flexible working up to ±3 hours GMT

The Coalition to Grow Carbon Markets is a government-led initiative co-chaired by the Governments of Kenya, Singapore, and the UK, bringing together demand- and supply-side governments to enable high-integrity, scalable voluntary carbon markets. The Coalition aims to mobilise private capital for climate action and sustainable development by creating confidence in credible carbon credits as a complement to domestic climate policies.

The Secretariat is hosted by the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), a multi-stakeholder initiative supporting high-integrity voluntary carbon markets aligned with the Paris Agreement goals.

Role Overview

The Programme Associate provides operational, analytical, and programme support across the Coalition’s workstreams. This role ensures smooth project delivery, informed decision-making, and effective engagement with Coalition members and external stakeholders.

The post involves:

  • Collecting, analysing, and synthesising data
  • Preparing country and workstream briefings
  • Supporting governance, PMO, and operational processes
  • Translating complex policy and market information into actionable insights

This is a remote-first position, but requires close coordination across multiple time zones and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analysis and Insight

  • Collect, analyse, and synthesise qualitative and quantitative data on Coalition strategy and workstreams
  • Maintain analytical trackers and dashboards covering key metrics
  • Map and track policy and market developments, identify trends, risks, and strategic opportunities
  • Conduct scenario analysis and collaborate on research outputs to support workstream delivery

2. Country Engagement Support

  • Prepare briefing packs, stakeholder mapping, and post-engagement readouts
  • Maintain engagement tracking systems (e.g., Monday.com) to ensure follow-ups
  • Identify policy linkages and positioning opportunities across member countries
  • Support preparation and delivery for major Coalition meetings and high-level engagements

3. Governance and PMO Support

  • Maintain action logs, decision trackers, and forward-look schedules
  • Prepare and follow up on internal Secretariat meetings and working-level meetings
  • Support senior-level engagements with briefing papers, slides, and minutes
  • Organise and maintain accurate documentation, contact lists, and audit trails

Profile / Requirements

  • Experience in project or programme management in policy, consulting, or related roles
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with data, trackers, and dashboards
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and structured datasets
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative, responsive, and proactive work style
