Climate Equity Fund Is Hiring a Remote Marketing & Communications Manager at Up to $140,000

The Climate Equity Fund is seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to strengthen its voice, expand digital engagement and communicate the impact of work advancing climate equity, racial equity and clean energy. The position is remote within the United States and offers an annual salary of $125,000 to $140,000.

This is a full-time opportunity for a communications professional with experience in strategic storytelling, content development, brand management and digital communications. The successful candidate will work across teams to translate complex issues into accessible stories that engage funders, partners, grantees and wider audiences.

About the Climate Equity Fund

The Climate Equity Fund is a collaborative funder and movement-builder supporting multiracial and working-class communities working toward equitable climate action and clean energy policies.

The Marketing & Communications Manager will play an important role in communicating this work to different audiences. The position combines strategic communications with hands-on content creation, project management, digital engagement and stakeholder communications.

The role is particularly suited to professionals who can connect organizational strategy with strong storytelling and understand how communications can contribute to broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communications strategies while maintaining consistent messaging across the organization’s platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing communications strategies, calendars and editorial workflows.
  • Maintaining messaging frameworks, style guides and brand standards.
  • Writing and editing newsletters, website content, reports and presentations.
  • Creating social media content and organizational announcements.
  • Developing talking points and communications materials for leadership.
  • Gathering stories, data and impact information from staff and grantees.
  • Managing website, email and social media communications.
  • Monitoring digital engagement and communications performance.
  • Supporting audience segmentation and email engagement strategies.
  • Coordinating communications projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Managing external consultants, designers, photographers and creative vendors.
  • Supporting webinars, events, conferences and external convenings.

The manager will also contribute to donor-facing communications, annual reports, impact reports and other materials used to communicate organizational achievements.

Storytelling and Digital Engagement

A central part of the position is turning complex climate, racial equity and clean energy issues into compelling narratives.

The successful candidate will need to understand different audiences and communicate information in ways that are accessible, accurate and engaging. This could involve transforming program data into an impact story, developing a newsletter for supporters or creating digital content that highlights the experiences of grantees and communities.

The role also involves managing digital channels and monitoring their performance. Candidates should be comfortable using analytics and communications KPIs to understand what is working and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should ideally have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, training and relevant professional experience may also be considered.

The organization is seeking professionals with:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, brand management or strategic storytelling.
  • At least 5 years of content creation experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, climate justice, advocacy or another mission-driven organization.
  • Experience communicating with donors, foundations, investors or other stakeholders.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience developing communications strategies and editorial calendars.
  • Experience managing websites, social media and email communications.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, agencies and creative vendors.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience managing multiple review and approval processes.

Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM systems and email marketing platforms is also beneficial.

Equity-Centered Communications

The organization is looking for someone who can approach communications through an equity-centered and anti-racist lens.

Beyond technical communications skills, candidates should demonstrate accountability, collaboration, adaptability, strategic thinking and strong attention to detail. The role requires someone who can work effectively with different teams and audiences while remaining focused on organizational priorities.

The Marketing & Communications Manager position offers a salary of $125,000–$140,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on factors including location, experience, skills and internal pay equity.
