CATCH (Caring Athletes Team for Children’s & Henry Ford Hospitals) is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead one of Detroit’s most recognized charitable organizations supporting pediatric patients and their families. Founded in 1987 by Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson, CATCH has built a legacy rooted in sports, philanthropy, and community engagement.
This role is a hybrid position based in Detroit, Michigan, with responsibilities that combine high-profile fundraising, operational leadership, and public representation of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director will serve as the senior leader of CATCH, overseeing strategy, fundraising, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
Fundraising & Relationship Development
- Serve as the primary ambassador for CATCH’s major donors, sponsors, and corporate partners.
- Develop and implement a relationship-based fundraising strategy to diversify revenue streams.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and sponsors for long-term engagement.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and expand existing donor relationships.
Signature Events & Revenue Generation
- Lead CATCH’s hallmark fundraising events, including the Golf Outing and Night of Champions.
- Ensure events provide exceptional experiences and achieve strong financial results.
- Utilize events to build relationships, elevate the organization’s profile, and increase engagement.
Communications, Visibility & Brand Stewardship
- Act as the public face and spokesperson for CATCH.
- Elevate organizational storytelling to effectively communicate mission and impact.
- Strengthen visibility across media, digital platforms, and community engagement channels.
- Honor CATCH’s legacy while building its reputation within Detroit and beyond.
Operational & Organizational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
- Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to support governance, planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and compliance in partnership with external advisors and board committees.
- Improve systems, processes, and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Systems Modernization & Growth
- Advance the use of donor management tools, fundraising databases, and reporting systems.
- Implement data-informed decision-making processes to support growth.
- Position the organization for long-term operational and financial sustainability.
Candidate Profile
CATCH seeks a leader who combines relationship-building expertise with operational excellence. The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate a proven track record in fundraising, sponsorship development, or revenue generation.
- Possess exceptional skills in cultivating relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Have experience leading or supporting high-profile, event-driven organizations.
- Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in storytelling and public presence.
- Operate strategically and tactically in a lean, collaborative team environment.
- Show financial and operational acumen, including budgeting and oversight.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in nonprofit, sports, entertainment, or community-based organizations.
- Familiarity with donor management systems and fundraising technology.
- Background in working alongside a Board of Directors or Trustees.

Compensation & Structure
- Competitive, commensurate with experience.
- Full-time hybrid position based in Detroit, Michigan.
- Reports to the Executive Vice President of Philanthropy at Henry Ford Health and partners closely with the CATCH Board of Trustees.
- Requires flexibility for evening and weekend events, donor engagement, and community activities.
