Catalyst Now is a global movement of social innovators dedicated to transforming systems and driving sustainable change to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Originating as a small WhatsApp group of visionary social innovators, Catalyst Now has grown into a dynamic network of over 6,000 members representing more than 4,500 organizations across 156 countries. The organization seeks to co-create spaces where social innovators connect, collaborate, and contribute to transformational change.

The movement operates under a Secretariat that coordinates and manages logistics and operations, providing essential support to members and ensuring that the activities and background tasks driving Catalyst Now are executed effectively.

About the Role

Catalyst Now is seeking Communications Interns to join its Communications and Shifting Narrative Team. This team is central to enhancing the organization’s global presence and supporting its mission to drive systemic change. The interns will execute digital strategies, manage multi-platform social media accounts, and create compelling multimedia content to communicate Catalyst Now’s work. They will serve as a bridge between the global movement and its diverse stakeholders, ensuring consistent messaging across newsletters, websites, and events, while monitoring key metrics to optimize outreach and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives
  • Managing social media presence across platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Creating engaging content for newsletters, website updates, and social media campaigns
  • Coordinating with members to collect and share impact stories and best practices
  • Supporting virtual and in-person events through communications initiatives
  • Maintaining and updating website content
  • Developing communication materials tailored to different stakeholders
  • Monitoring and analyzing communication metrics to assess reach and effectiveness
  • Supporting internal communications among the global membership
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as requested, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability

Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms and current digital trends
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and content creation skills
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to create video content and willingness to learn platforms like Mailchimp
  • Active interest in global issues, systemic challenges, and sustainability
  • Experience working in multicultural, global environments with cultural sensitivity
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Arabic is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment with overlapping CET hours
  • Collaborative mindset, positive attitude, flexibility, and hands-on approach

Internship Details

  • Duration: Six months, full-time contract
  • Start Date: February 2026
  • Location: Remote, with required 4-hour overlap with CET working hours
