Consultant Opportunity: Biodiversity Accounting Analyst

BirdLife Europe and Central Asia is seeking a consultant to conduct biodiversity assessments for an extractive sector business partnership.

The consultant will analyze existing data on extractive sites and evaluate biodiversity impacts using recognized biodiversity accounting approaches. The assignment will also involve reviewing current assessment methodologies and developing recommendations for improving data collection, verification, and monitoring processes.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

• Completing biodiversity net impact assessments for extractive sites using existing datasets.

Desktop Biodiversity Net Impact Assessments

The consultant will conduct assessments of extractive sites included within an existing dataset, applying appropriate biodiversity accounting methods.

Ground-Truthing Workflow Document

A detailed document will be developed outlining suggested processes for validating desktop assessments, collecting operational feedback, and improving future assessments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

BirdLife International is seeking candidates with strong expertise in biodiversity, conservation, sustainability, or related fields.
