Role Overview:
Are you passionate about guiding strategy for building and scaling key partnerships with UN agencies, multilateral organizations, and development banks to create transformative change for children? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor – Multilateral Partnerships to lead Plan International’s global engagement with select multilateral entities. This role will be at the heart of positioning Plan International within the global partnership landscape, collaborating across our teams and networks to identify high-impact opportunities for transformative change.
The ideal candidate will play a central role in enhancing our partnerships and driving internal coordination to optimize our collective impact, with a focus on the strategic direction of external engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global engagement with select multilateral partners, including UN agencies and development banks.
- Represent Plan International internally and externally, aligning organizational strengths with external partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with regional and country teams, as well as policy, advocacy, campaigns, and humanitarian teams at the Global Hub.
- Provide strategic guidance to organizational leaders and ensure effective coordination and collaboration across the organization.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- In-depth knowledge of the United Nations system and familiarity with the workings of international financial institutions (IFIs) or other multilateral organizations.
- Expertise in advocacy, policy, and/or fundraising within the international development sector.
- Proven experience in building global partnerships and alliances with a track record of success.
- A strong understanding of global development issues and trends.
- Familiarity with partnership management tools, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks and capacity-building strategies for partnerships.
You must be able to work within a multicultural and decentralized team and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Location & Type of Role:
This role is flexible and can be based in any location where Plan International has an office and you have the right to live and work. Possible locations include offices in countries such as the UK, Canada, Kenya, Germany, and many more (see list below).
The contract is permanent or fixed-term, as per the employing office’s standard terms and conditions.
Salary:
Salary will be based on the location of the role and in accordance with local compensation structures. For reference, if based in the UK, the salary is approximately £60,000 per annum.
