Gender and Disaster Australia Limited (GADAus) is seeking an experienced Research Officer to join its fully remote team on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time (0.8 EFT) contract. About the Research Officer Role
Reporting to the Research and Innovation Manager, the Research Officer will support the planning and delivery of high-quality research projects that influence disaster policy and practice.
The successful candidate will conduct research, manage research activities, engage stakeholders, analyse evidence, and translate research findings into accessible reports and practical resources.
Although the organisation is based in Victoria, all employees work remotely. Occasional travel to meetings and events within Australia may be required.
Key Responsibilities
The Research Officer will:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research.
- Manage research projects from planning to completion.
- Undertake literature reviews and evidence synthesis.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret research data.
- Prepare reports, policy briefs, presentations, and practical resources.
- Support the development of research frameworks and methodologies.
- Engage with government agencies, researchers, and community organisations.
- Communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive employment package that includes:
- Annual prorated salary of AUD 96,693 plus superannuation

- Fully remote working arrangement

- Four weeks annual leave (pro rata)
- Annual leave loading
- Three additional paid leave days between Christmas and New Year
- Opportunity for contract extension, subject to funding
