ChildFund Australia is seeking a Rugby Giving Lead Consultant to join its ChildFund Rugby – Sport for Development (S4D) programme. This remote consultancy opportunity is ideal for current or former elite rugby athletes who want to use their networks, influence, and relationships to create positive change for children and young people.

The consultant will support the growth of the Pass It Back Collective, a global community of rugby-connected supporters whose contributions will help expand ChildFund Rugby’s programmes and reach more vulnerable children around the world.

Role Overview

The Rugby Giving Lead Consultant will focus on relationship-based fundraising by developing connections with potential supporters and helping secure significant charitable contributions for Pass It Back.

The successful consultant will manage a portfolio of approximately 25–35 prospective donors, developing relationships through personal engagement, rugby networks, events, and supporter experiences.

This role combines rugby credibility, relationship building, storytelling, and strategic engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Development and Relationship Management

The consultant will:

• Manage an assigned portfolio of prospective supporters.
• Develop relationship strategies and maintain accurate records.
• Use rugby networks and personal connections to secure introductions.
• Build meaningful relationships through meetings, events, and virtual engagements.
• Guide prospects through qualification, cultivation, and stewardship stages.
• Maintain consistent communication and follow-up.

Major Giving and Supporter Engagement

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting major donor conversations.
• Helping develop personalised engagement strategies.
• Participating in supporter events and rugby experiences.
• Encouraging long-term membership in the Pass It Back Collective.
• Supporting renewed giving, advocacy, and introductions from existing supporters.

The consultant will work closely with ChildFund Rugby leadership and fundraising advisers to strengthen donor relationships.

Representation and Collaboration

The Rugby Giving Lead will represent ChildFund Rugby and the Pass It Back Collective by:

• Sharing the organisation’s mission and impact.
• Using personal rugby experience to inspire supporters.
• Building trust with donors and stakeholders.
• Collaborating with ambassadors, fundraising teams, and programme staff.
• Providing updates on relationship progress and opportunities.

Who Should Apply?
