This part-time Production Assistant role is designed for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about digital storytelling, investigative content, and media production.
About the Role
The Production Assistant will support the production teams behind fern & Simplicissimus, helping ensure smooth execution of planning, logistics, and on-set coordination. These channels focus on high-quality video essays, investigative journalism, and socially relevant storytelling that reaches millions of viewers globally.
This is a fully remote role (Europe/UK-based) with approximately 2 working days per week, offering flexibility and exposure to professional media production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to both administrative and production-related tasks, including:
- Supporting producers and production coordinators in daily operations
- Assisting with project planning and tracking ongoing productions
- Managing internal schedules, resources, and production capacity
- Handling expense tracking, receipts, and credit card documentation
- Supporting shoot logistics such as location booking, travel arrangements, and crew coordination
- Assisting with file organization and production documentation
- Occasionally joining on-set shoots to ensure smooth operations
Skills and Experience Required
This role is ideal for someone with early experience in media or production environments, such as internships or freelance work.
Key requirements include:
- Fluent German with good English communication skills
- Prior exposure to film, TV, or media production (even entry-level experience is acceptable)
