The One Family Foundation (OFF), a Netherlands-based family foundation with a global impact, is seeking an Asia Engagement Advisor to strengthen its initiatives in social innovation across the region. OFF also convenes the Government Council for Social Innovation (GCSI), a coalition of governments focused on advancing social innovation globally. Role Overview

The Asia Engagement Advisor will lead strategic engagement efforts in Asia, collaborating closely with governments, regional bodies, and social innovation partners. Reporting to the Head of Global Engagement, this advisor will coordinate with regional advisors and global teams to ensure that Asia-focused insights inform the foundation’s broader strategy.

This role is highly strategic, requiring senior-level experience in government relations, policy advocacy, or international development. The advisor must possess a deep understanding of the Asian public sector, regional policy landscapes, and mechanisms for fostering innovation ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Government & Policy Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-level government stakeholders, policymakers, and regulatory bodies across Asia.
  • Develop policy recommendations and advocacy strategies aligned with OFF’s mission to advance social innovation.
  • Represent OFF in policy forums, multilateral discussions, and government consultations to ensure regional priorities are recognized.

2. Regional Strategy & Coordination

  • Design and implement a regional engagement strategy, identifying priority countries, sectors, and policy themes.
  • Monitor policy trends affecting social entrepreneurship and innovation across Asia.
  • Facilitate cross-country knowledge exchange among governments, regional institutions, and ecosystem partners.

3. Programme Design & Support

  • Advise global teams on policy components related to Asia-focused initiatives.
  • Ensure that regional insights inform program design, strategy, and implementation.
  • Support research, reporting, and monitoring of policy and social innovation developments.

4. Partnership & Ecosystem Building

  • Build alliances with NGOs, think tanks, social innovators, and donors to expand impact and scale initiatives.
  • Identify funding and collaboration opportunities that strengthen public-private innovation efforts.
  • Support the growth of networks that enable systemic change and regional innovation.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7–10 years of progressively senior roles in public policy, government affairs, or international development.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of Asia’s public sector, innovation policy, economic development, or entrepreneurship ecosystems.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, relationship-building, and cross-cultural communication.
  • Education: Master’s degree in public policy, international relations, development studies, or equivalent experience.
  • Languages: Fluent English; additional UN language preferred.
