The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) is recruiting a Communications Coordinator for a fully remote international opportunity open to candidates worldwide. The role is designed for communications professionals with strong storytelling, graphic design, and digital engagement skills who are passionate about education, international relations, and public policy.

APSIA is seeking a creative and detail-oriented communicator to manage social media strategy, newsletters, digital campaigns, and promotional content for its global network of member schools. The selected candidate will help strengthen APSIA’s online visibility while supporting outreach initiatives that connect future leaders in international affairs and policy studies.

Position Overview

The Communications Coordinator position involves creating engaging multimedia content, managing communication platforms, and supporting audience growth across digital channels. The successful applicant will collaborate on storytelling initiatives, conduct interviews for content development, analyze engagement metrics, and assist with strategic communication planning.

This remote role is ideal for candidates with experience in nonprofit communications, higher education marketing, or public affairs messaging. APSIA values applicants who understand digital storytelling, social listening, and audience engagement within international and policy-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications Coordinator will:

  • Manage and advise on APSIA’s communication and social media strategy
  • Produce newsletters, press releases, and promotional content
  • Create visual graphics and branded communication materials
  • Conduct social media audits, analytics reviews, and A/B testing
  • Support digital storytelling and audience engagement campaigns
  • Interview stakeholders and transform information into compelling content
  • Promote APSIA member schools and international affairs initiatives
  • Assist with online visibility and communication outreach efforts

Qualifications and Skills

APSIA is looking for candidates with:

  • Strong writing and editing abilities
  • Graphic design experience using tools like Canva or Adobe platforms
  • Knowledge of social media strategy and digital communication
  • Experience with analytics, engagement metrics, and campaign reporting
  • Familiarity with international affairs, education, or policy communication
  • Experience working with nonprofits or public-sector organizations
  • Ability to create presentations, event materials, and promotional campaigns

Experience in communications, journalism, marketing, international relations, or public policy is highly valued.
