Nutrition International is seeking an experienced consultant to document program learnings from Pakistan’s large-scale food fortification (LSFF) initiatives. Scope of Work

The consultant will undertake a comprehensive range of tasks aimed at synthesizing and communicating program insights.

1. Desk Review and Research

The consultant will:

• Review internal documents such as:
  • Project concept notes
  • Strategy papers
  • Donor and progress reports
  • Monitoring data
• Analyze external literature, including:
  • Peer-reviewed publications
  • Global guidelines and scientific reports
  • Landscape analyses and policy briefs

2. Stakeholder Consultations

• Conduct at least two monthly meetings with Nutrition International’s focal point
• Discuss structure, content, and development of knowledge products
• Address challenges and align on deliverables

3. Development of Knowledge Products

The consultant will produce a range of outputs, including:

• Manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals (e.g., indexed in PubMed/Scopus)
• Conference abstracts and presentations for events such as:
  • International Union of Nutritional Sciences conferences
  • Micronutrient Forum meetings
• Case studies for internal and external use
• Program briefs for stakeholders
• Policy briefs to inform decision-makers

Duration and Timeline

The consultancy spans 100 working days over 18 months, running from:

• Start date: April 1, 2026
• End date: September 30, 2027

This flexible timeline allows for in-depth research, iterative consultations, and high-quality output development.

Required Experience and Skills

Professional Experience

Candidates should have:

• 7–10 years of experience in public health nutrition or related fields
• Proven expertise in drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
• At least:
  • 5 published manuscripts in indexed journals
  • 2–3 conference presentations
• Experience working with international NGOs or development organizations

Knowledge and Technical Skills

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• Strong understanding of food fortification strategies and policies
• Familiarity with WHO/UN guidelines on micronutrients
• Knowledge of public health nutrition in Asian contexts, particularly Pakistan
• Ability to analyze monitoring data and derive insights
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
