About the Head of Africa Role

Africa is central to the global conversation on resource governance and the just energy transition. As Head of Africa, you will provide strategic leadership across the continent, supporting a diverse network of members, national coalitions, advocates, and partners working to advance resource justice.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Impact and Development, you will oversee regional programmes while strengthening partnerships and expanding the organization’s influence across Africa.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership for RJN’s Africa portfolio.
  • Supporting and strengthening national member coalitions.
  • Building relationships with governments, donors, civil society organizations, and international institutions.
  • Leading fundraising and partnership development initiatives.
  • Representing RJN at regional and international events.
  • Driving programme delivery that promotes transparency, accountability, and climate justice.
  • Strengthening member engagement and movement-building across Africa.

This role combines strategic thinking, advocacy, diplomacy, and organizational leadership to create lasting impact.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers competitive salaries based on location across Africa.

Current salary ranges include:

  • Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania: $68,710
  • Kenya: $67,072
  • Uganda: $63,802
  • Madagascar: $62,985

Candidates based in other African countries are encouraged to enquire about country-specific salary arrangements.
