Role Overview

The Francophone Africa Engagement Advisor will lead strategic engagement across Francophone African countries, acting as a bridge between:

  • Governments and policymakers
  • Regional institutions (e.g., AU, ECOWAS, EAC)

  • Donors and multilateral partners

This is a high-impact advisory role that blends diplomacy, strategy, and ecosystem building.

Key Responsibilities

Government & Policy Engagement

  • Build and manage relationships with senior government stakeholders
  • Develop policy recommendations and advocacy strategies
  • Represent the organization in regional and multilateral forums
  • Support policy alignment for social innovation initiatives

Regional Strategy & Coordination

  • Design and implement engagement strategies for Francophone Africa
  • Track regional policy and innovation trends
  • Facilitate cross-country learning and collaboration
  • Align national strategies with regional institutions

Programme Design & Strategic Support

  • Advise internal teams on Africa-focused policy integration
  • Ensure African insights inform global strategy
  • Support design of policy-linked innovation programs

Partnerships & Ecosystem Building

  • Build networks with NGOs, think tanks, and donors
  • Identify funding and collaboration opportunities
  • Strengthen public-private innovation ecosystems
  • Support scaling of social entrepreneurship initiatives

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in governance, policy, and international development.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of senior experience in:
    • Public policy
    • Government affairs
    • International development
  • Strong knowledge of Francophone African political and development contexts
  • Proven ability to engage governments and multilateral institutions
  • Master’s degree in public policy, international relations, or related field
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
