Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CAO serves as a key ambassador for Gift of Adoption Fund and builds relationships with high-impact supporters who have the capacity to provide transformational gifts.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Advancement Officer will:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 major gift prospects and donors.
- Develop strategies for annual, multi-year, endowed, and planned gifts.
- Build strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
- Conduct donor meetings, stewardship visits, and fundraising conversations.
- Identify and qualify new major donor prospects.
- Create donor cultivation and solicitation plans.
- Strengthen fundraising pipelines through networking and partnerships.
- Support donor events and engagement activities.
- Maintain accurate donor records and reports.
Requirements
Ideal candidates should have:
- 15+ years of experience in major gifts, fundraising, or nonprofit advancement.
- Proven success securing gifts of $50,000 or more.
- Experience managing high-value donor relationships.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel for donor engagement when required.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of:

Position 2: Major Gifts Officer (Remote) – Earn Up to $120,000
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for managing donor relationships, identifying new supporters, and securing philanthropic contributions that advance Gift of Adoption Fund’s programmes.
This role is ideal for fundraising professionals with experience in donor cultivation, individual giving, and nonprofit development.
Key Responsibilities
The Major Gifts Officer will:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 300 major gift prospects and donors.
- Engage donors capable of contributing $10,000 or more annually.
- Develop personalised fundraising strategies.
- Conduct donor discovery meetings and stewardship activities.
- Research and identify new supporters.
- Build future donor pipelines.
- Support fundraising campaigns and donor events.
- Maintain detailed records of donor engagement.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- 6+ years of experience in major gifts or nonprofit fundraising.
- Demonstrated fundraising success with gifts of $10,000 or more.
- Strong donor relationship management skills.
