Adidas Foundation Seeks Youth Participation Consultant to Strengthen Sport for Good Programs|Deadline 12 Jul 2026

The power of sport extends far beyond competition. It creates opportunities for young people to develop confidence, leadership, and resilience while addressing some of society’s most pressing challenges. Recognizing this potential, the adidas Foundation is seeking an experienced consultant or expert team to design and deliver an innovative Youth Participation and High-Quality Listening Learning Journey that will strengthen youth engagement across its global Sport for Good initiatives.
This exciting remote freelance consultancy offers professionals with expertise in youth participation, facilitation, and learning design the opportunity to shape how organizations meaningfully involve young people in decision-making processes.
About the Consultancy
The adidas Foundation is looking for a consultant capable of creating a comprehensive learning journey that equips partner organizations with practical skills to engage young people more effectively. Rather than focusing solely on theory, the programme will emphasize hands-on learning, practical tools, peer exchange, and real-world application.
The selected consultant will work with organizations at varying levels of experience, helping them strengthen their youth participation practices while fostering a culture of accountability, safeguarding, and continuous learning.
A key objective is ensuring that youth voices are not only heard but actively influence programme design, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant or consulting team will be responsible for:
- Designing a comprehensive Youth Participation and High-Quality Listening Learning Journey.
- Facilitating engaging learning experiences for adidas Foundation partners.
- Developing practical resources, tools, templates, and case studies.
- Creating opportunities for peer learning and knowledge exchange.
- Supporting organizations to integrate meaningful youth participation into Sport for Good programmes.
- Designing a Training of Trainers (ToT) model that enables the adidas Foundation to independently deliver and scale the learning programme in the future.
This combination of strategic planning, facilitation, and capacity building makes the consultancy particularly suited to professionals experienced in participatory learning methodologies and youth development.
Who Should Apply?
The opportunity is ideal for consultants with demonstrated expertise in:
- Youth participation and youth engagement.
- Sport for Development or Sport for Good programmes.
- Adult learning and instructional design.
- Facilitation of workshops and learning journeys.
- Safeguarding and accountability frameworks.
- Capacity strengthening for nonprofit organizations.
- Participatory programme design and evaluation.
Both individual consultants and expert teams are encouraged to submit proposals.
Why This Consultancy Matters
Across the development sector, organizations increasingly recognize that programmes are more effective when young people actively shape the decisions that affect them. However, meaningful participation requires more than inviting young people into discussions—it requires intentional systems, skilled facilitation, and organizational commitment.
Through this consultancy, the adidas Foundation aims to build these capacities across its partner network, helping organizations move beyond consultation toward genuine youth leadership and shared decision-making.
The assignment also places strong emphasis on sustainability through the creation of a Training of Trainers approach. This ensures that learning can continue long after the consultancy concludes, allowing the Foundation to expand its impact across future programmes.
